Much to be thankful for....

Thanksgiving was yesterday and I of course I forgot to take any pictures. I am terrible about remembering my camera most of the time. Noah was with Josh & Whit this year and the poor little guy was sick the 3 days before the holiday. I had not seen him that sick in a long time. Even when he has a cold he still has a ton of energy but he could barely move for two days with a high fever. Thankfully he was feeling much better by Wednesday. I spent Thanksgiving Day at my mom and dad's in Lehi and my Aunt Mary, Uncle Brent, Lynn & Laura all joined for dinner. This year there were no kids for Thanksgiving. It was so weird... but quiet. LOL All the men did was talk about fishing... oh, and Laura too cause she has become the fish whisperer or whatever. It was a good time though and was really grateful that I have family close by. I have so much to be grateful for, but most of all I am grateful for the new found peace I have felt in my life over the last 8 months. I used to stress and worry alot of about life. I worried about the tomorrows so much that I had a hard time enjoying the today and I have really realized what happiness and peace come from real faith and believing that we are in the Lords hands. It's a liberating and wonderful feeling. :) And for that I have much thanks!!! I am grateful to have such a smart, loving, tender-hearted and good natured son who makes me feel so loved. I am truely blessed.

I actually did venture out and do some shopping today. There was a few stores I walked into and then immediately walked out of. (haha). Some discounts are just not worth the chaos. I am going to a Jazz game tomorrow and I can't wait!!! J got some free tickets and he was kind enough to snag them for me! What a great friend! :) I am heading to Vegas next week to visit Karli and I am really excited to spend some time with my little sis.

Girls Night...

We recently had a girls night with some of the women from the Simply Sisters blog. It was a riot! So much fun... I think we were at Mandie's house until close to midnight. I had never played "Rock Band" before and was pretty intimidated by the instruments. I tried the vocal part and I did pretty good! Tiffany told me I should take a picture of the scorebored because I got 100% on Wonderwall!!! LOL I was pretty tickled by that.

Happy Halloween

The night before Halloween Noah says to me... " I better get some rest. I have a big day tomorrow." (haha). I thought that was awesome. And he did! He had a Halloween parade at school that morning and then was having a party at school. He came home to Josh's house and he carved pumpkins with Whit and the kids. I then picked him up and took him trick or treating at work where he got a ton of candy. We went and ate dinner and then went trick or treating around Josh & Whits neighborhood. Noah was Iron Man and his sisters were cute little cow girls. Gabe was a tiny pumkin. They were all so cute!

We then headed to Nana & Papas where Nana had bought an awesome spider cake to share. Loaded with frosting. We should have taken a picture. We watched "Journey to the Center of the Earth" with Nana & Papa and then headed home. After a night of sugar and a long week I was sooo glad to crash.

Two days and counting....

First Jazz game is Wed. night and I cannot wait so I am blogging about it. So.... I am doing relief society visits on Wed night and will have to set the DVR so nobody is allowed to ruin it!! You hear me!? (haha) JK. I have a bet with I guy I work with in Denver because he is a huge Nuggets fan of course. The game on Wed. is Jazz vs. Nuggets and there is a bag of Double Stuff Oreos on the line here people so my Jazz better pull thru for me and my treats! :)

Winter is coming....

Ok! I mean it this time! I am going to be better about keeping up the blog. (haha) Ya.. we will see how that goes. Things are good. Life is really busy. I got a new calling in the relief society presidency as a counselor and its going to be a busy job, but I already love it. Already I have gotten to know so many new people and it has and will be a blessing.
I am dating a little bit but not alot. Its not really all that fun anymore. As you get older its more of a chore. (haha) It's so bad to say but it is... I am working on my attitude about it though and I still have a lot of hope in the special one for me out there somewhere.

Noah is doing well in school and so far he likes 4th grade. He has to study a little bit more but that is probably good for him. He is going to be Iron Man for halloween and I am sure we will have candy overload all week. I was sitting in church today and really realized that Noah does have a great little voice. I hope I can talk to him into using it. I don't think he thinks its very cool right now to have such a nice singing voice but I think he will someday. I might talk him into doing a duet with mom in church. That would be something I sure would cherish forever. I am going to work on that one.

Sorry to all those out there that love summer but I am happy for the cool weather and the holiday season. I love blankets, warm coats and everything that comes with winter (except driving in the snow). I might get some new snowshoes this year and I want to get out and do that as much as I can. I better get back to the gym regulary so the snow doesn't kick my toosh!! Well thats it for now... but I am going to work on rambling on here more often. Maybe more for me than anyone. Alot of women have said they use blogging as their family journal and I think that is a great idea actually.

I forgot to add this part.... ummm... The Jazz season starts Oct. 29th!!! Oh my... who needs to date?? Serious.. I am can't even tell you how elated I am to have the NBA back. Its going to be a GREAT winter. Ohhh the joy of the little simple things like a winning jazz season. Yes, I think I am going to get a jersey this year to wear to games. BUT.. its not going to be Korver. I am over that... I stopped calling him back and I think he got the hint. Moving on... LOLOL!!

August 08

Alrighty.... so bad about updating this. I am on facebook too so I seem to be loading alot of pictures on there more often. So join Facebook and you will be more updated on our lives. (haha) Anyway, I got a new calling as the visiting teaching coordinater. It's going to be a challenge as I think our ward does not do so well in that area, but the Bishop seems to think that I am the gal to fix it. LOL! ohh man... just a little pressure. Noah starts school in a few days. 4th grade!!! Do I really have a 4th grader. Oh my.... reality check. :) I am turning 32 next week and Noah will be turning 10 a couple weeks later. All the family was just here and it was so much fun. It had been a long time since all the grandkids were together and to see both my sisters was awesome! Chaos, but wonderful chaos. :) I have been enjoying staying up too late watching the Olympics lately and I think i am going camping in Yellowstone over Labor day. Thats about it for now...

July 08

So.... Summer is here and I am already ready for Winter! Did I tell anyone I despise the heat? :) All is well though... I am a happy camper. Karli was here with the kiddos for 3 weeks and it was so fun to see and spend time with them. I miss my sisters! Noah had fun playing spring soccer and will be taking some advanced swimming lessons here in a few weeks. He is a great swimmer! He is loving the summer break. And me... well.... not doing a whole lot new but I am content and feelin good about life. J and I are friends and its nice to have my best friend around again. I am waiting for Mr. Wonderfully right to come along to fit that eternal puzzle- anyone seen him out there?? hahaha... Not in my time... I guess. :) Work is great... I have a wonderful family... have a great ward and have alot of faith. I can't ask for too much more. Maybe I will have something more exciting to post later. OH!!! Wait! I won a TV! That was pretty darn cool.

Update....

Well, whats new? Nothin much! I haven't posted in quite some time so I am hunting for any kind of update to give. My life is pretty boring right now. Jazz basketball is pretty much my social life for the last 4 months. :) I rarely miss watching a game and I get a little too into it from what Noah tells me. I will be clapping and cheering in the living room and Noah will come in the room and look at me funny. I can't wait for the playoffs!! Lets hope they can hold it together in the next few weeks!
Noah will be starting Spring soccer the end of the month and he is really excited. We are excited for the spring weather! I just hope it's not as hot this summer as it was last year. I would like to do alot of hiking this summer and the mountains are definitely always cooler!
I have been attempting to do some dating here and there but it isn't my favorite thing in the world. Is there anyway to to avoid that part?? hahaha... I guess not. I am actually not too worried about that part of my life right now. I have alot of trust that the right things will happen in the right time and I am pretty happy to say I really do believe that now. Work is good... same old thing. I am grateful to have a good job and to have my parents here. Its so wonderful for Noah and I to be able to see them and spend time with them so often. Thats it for now I guess. Congrats to Karli and Sean on their new baby! I can't wait to see him!

Pinewood Derby! Noah got Second Place!

Noah got second place at the pinewood derby! He was SO excited. We had a great time! Josh helped him build it with one of their neighbors and Papa Laub came to cheer him on.
